This is officially my first post and you can imagine how excited, happy and proud I am.
Fashion and Interior Design are my passions, mostly all of my wardrobe is black, white, gold, red and dark blue, so when it comes to interiors my taste doesn’t change at all.
I’ve been dreaming about decorating my own house since I was 11 years old, and finally that time has come, in one month my family and I –my boyfriend and my little son– will be moving to our first apartment together! This is such a big step for us and I cannot explain how anxious I am to paint the walls, buy the carpets, crafting the wall dividers, because there’s noting better than having at least one item handcrafted, I consider it as good luck.
Things are not gonna be easy with my boyfriend who –like a good german– is an avid believer that the natural color of wood which I’m not a huge fan of – I’m more a dark wood person -, is the best of the best. Silly fights shall come but in the end our home will be as beautiful as we want it to be.
You know that feeling when you have a favourite color and you buy everything, and I mean EVERYTHING of that color?
There’s something about black that I just can’t have enough, yeah it’s elegant and matches perfectly with other colors, but there is something more: You can buy curtains, sunglasses, shoes, chairs, anything, with black you CAN’T be wrong. It’s proven.
Three decorating ideas with black in mind have been swirling around in my head and I felt the need to share them with you:
3 Classy Color Ideas
To Decorate Your Home:
Black, White and Grey,
Simple. Sober. Elegant. What I like about this mix is that it doesn’t need too much work, you only need two things. One, your good taste, which I believe you have if you’re reading this; and two, stamping your style to your place.
Always buy black, white or grey furniture that reflect who you are, remember it’s your home the one you’re decorating.
Black, Gold and White, oh my
Oh how I love both colors together in my outfit, it’s no surprise I want them in my home too.
It’s a luxury elegant touch that doesn’t need to be expensive. The key is to leave the room colors and most furniture black and incorporate gold in items like picture frames, candles, pillows, lamps, you name it!
Black and Black because, why not?
Don’t tell me this is a bad idea until you give it a try.
The only condition is that the room must be big, black tends to make things look slimmer and tinier, the opposite of white, so if you want to implement this idea remember that your room must be big enough.
You can add silver if you want, I assure you it will look amazing.
Are you working in the makeover of your home? I’d like to see it!
Interior design projects excites me a lot, so be sure I will happily read your comments.
